Blackjack Payouts

Blackjack is a card game that awards payouts to winning players based on a series of established odds. In most casino and online Blackjack games, the rates for payouts are the same. These payouts are always in ratio format using a semi-colon (e.g. 3:2). These payouts tell a player exactly how much he will earn if he wins the Blackjack bet.
In a scenario where a player receives a natural Blackjack from the first two dealt cards of the game, the player wins at odds of 3:2. A natural consists of an Ace plus a 10-value card like a 10, Jack, Queen or King; the sum of these two cards adds up to 21, the winning number of the game. The hand is called a natural because it is naturally dealt to a player without a player’s interference. If the player bets $10, he will win $15.
A regular win in Blackjack pays out at 1:1. This means that if a player has a hand total closer to 21 than the dealer’s, the player wins. For example, if a player has a 20 and the dealer has a 17, the player wins the hand. If the player bet $15 on the hand and wins 1:1, then the player earns back the $15 invested plus another $15 for a total payout of $30.
To play Blackjack means to sometimes tie, or push, with the dealer. The player does not win, or lose. The bet is simply returned to the player.
